steacie lachance | owner
Steacie is the independent owner/operator of both Weed Man and Mosquito Hero. Her parents, Gary and Ellen successfully operated the franchise for 20 years before Steacie took over in 2008. Since then she has doubled the company.
Steacie has 3 sons who work with her intermittently and a daughter-in-law who is making her way up in the company. She has always focused on her community and supports local charities and community groups. Steacie believes strongly in customer service and wants each customer to be treated like a good friend.
In the off season, Steacie's passion is travelling to explore new places. At home she likes to get lost in the garden, go paddle boarding on the river, walk her rescue dog Chloe and spend time relaxing at the cottage with her partner Ron.
emma Blair | technical MANAGER
Emma has worked her way up to the Technical Manager position here at Weed Man and Mosquito Hero Muskoka. She started with the company as a technician and has worked hard in the office, the field and in furthering her education to progress to management.
Emma grew up in Bracebridge and her family has deep roots in the town; She got married at the end of our season last year.
On her Off time, Emma enjoys the company of her Rescue cat Pepper, spending quality time with her Husband Zach, going to the drive-in or enjoying family movie nights in the backyard.
In the winter, Emma also spends her time on her 2 favourite hobbies- Crocheting and reading books curled up with Pepper.
shannon rhyner | office administrator
Shannon brings over 20 years of customer service experience and Leadership, having received certificates and awards for both. She is also St. John’s Ambulance First Aid Certified.
Her background is in the Hospitality and Tourism field, where she excelled at service excellence, and helping people have excellent experiences. She grew up on a Dairy farm and is familiar with the Agricultural industry too, bringing experience and creativity to the industry.
Originating from North Western Ontario, Shannon is familiar with what areas like Muskoka can offer. Her hobbies include singing, dancing, fishing and taking care of her critters; on the weekends you would typically find her outside doing something with her pets or in the garden.
Shannon enjoys solving problems and is an organized soul; she invites you to share your outdoor goals with us so that we can help you achieve them!

Meet Milo! As the official four-legged mascot at Weed Man Muskoka, Milo brings joy and pawsitivity to the office every day. Whether he’s supervising the team (from a comfy spot on the office loveseat with his Lamby) or sneaking in some belly rubs between meetings, he’s proof that second chances come with lots of love—and maybe a few treats!
chloe | lunch liberator
Chloe is a proud rescue from Muskoka Animal Rescue and the beloved furry sidekick of our owner, Steacie. As one of our sponsorship stars, she’s become a bit of a celebrity around here—especially around lunchtime! Known as the Lunch Liberator, Chloe has a knack for charming (or gently bullying) her way into a few extra treats. Whether she’s making her rounds or offering a much-needed break, Chloe is always a welcome distraction and an important part of our team!
